Volvo XC90
Seven seats and Nordic winter engineering.
Finnish winters are long, dark and serious, and the XC90 was engineered a few hundred kilometres away for exactly those conditions. Seven seats, four-wheel drive, a pre-warmed cabin and winter tyres by law — the family car we send north most often after the GLS.

Scandinavian inside, in the literal sense
Open-pore wood, wool-blend upholstery and a portrait screen that does not try to control everything. The XC90 cabin is calmer than most of its rivals, which is the point — it was designed for long dark drives rather than showrooms.
In a Finnish winter the heated seats front and rear and a pre-warmed cabin matter as much as the space. We set both before handover at Rovaniemi or Kittilä, so nobody sits waiting for the glass to clear at minus twenty.
Engineered for the dark and the cold
Finnish Lapland in December has four hours of twilight and temperatures well below minus twenty. The XC90 handles both calmly: heated seats front and rear, a heated steering wheel, a cabin warmed before we hand over the key, and safety systems that were designed with exactly this kind of driving in mind.
In the south it is the practical all-rounder — Helsinki, the lakes and the coast road — and the most economical seven-seater we run on a long booking.
The XC90 from Helsinki to Lapland
We deliver the XC90 to Helsinki addresses and Vantaa arrivals year round, and in winter send it north to meet your flight at Rovaniemi or Kittilä with the cabin warm and the tyres already right.
Winter tyres are a legal requirement in the Finnish winter and are fitted from October to April at no cost, studded on request. Tallinn and Stockholm sailings are permitted, and cross-border travel into Sweden and Norway is noted on the papers.
Renting the XC90 in Finland
Can the Volvo XC90 be delivered in Rovaniemi or Levi?
Both are regular delivery points for the cars we send north. Fly in and the car meets you at Rovaniemi or Kittilä with the cabin already warm, rather than driving a thousand kilometres to begin the holiday.
Does the XC90 have studded tyres?
Winter tyres are a legal requirement in the Finnish winter and are fitted on every car from October to April at no cost. Studded tyres are available on request.
Is the XC90 suitable for Lapland in January?
For most families, yes. With studded tyres fitted it handles the main roads and most lodge access comfortably. If your lodge is at the end of an unploughed private road, the G-Class or GLS is the stronger choice.
Does the Volvo XC90 seat seven?
Yes. The third row suits children and shorter adult journeys; for seven adults over a long distance the GLS or Escalade is the better call.
Are child seats provided?
Free of charge and fitted before delivery. The outer middle-row seats also have integrated booster cushions, which is often enough for older children.
