Volvo XC90
The sensible answer to most Norwegian itineraries.
If you are not sure which car your Norwegian trip needs, it is probably the XC90. Seven seats, four-wheel drive, winter tyres from October and a cabin built for long dark drives — capable on the fjord roads, economical on the long ones, and easy to live with in Oslo.

Scandinavian inside, in the literal sense
Open-pore wood, wool-blend upholstery and a portrait screen that does not try to control everything. The XC90 cabin is calmer than most of its rivals, which is the point — it was designed for long dark drives rather than showrooms.
For Norwegian families it is also the most practical cabin in the fleet: integrated boosters for the children, a sliding middle row, and enough space for a week's luggage on a fjord itinerary with three hotel changes.
One car for the city, the fjords and the mountains
Norwegian itineraries rarely stay in one kind of place. A week might be two nights in Oslo, a day over the mountains to Bergen and three days on the fjords. The XC90 is the car that does all of it without being the wrong choice anywhere — high enough to see over the barriers, compact enough for Oslo parking, and frugal over a long week.
It is also the car we recommend, alongside the Range Rover, for most fjord routes: composed on broken surfaces and easy to place on single-track roads with passing places.
Getting the XC90 to the start of the drive
We deliver to hotels and addresses in Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger and meet you at Gardermoen or Flesland arrivals inside a confirmed 60-minute window. Ski resorts and cabins are quoted with the distance as its own line.
Every car carries an AutoPASS tag, with tolls reconciled to the booking and shown as one line afterwards. Winter tyres are fitted from October to April at no cost, and cross-border travel into Sweden, Denmark and Finland is permitted and noted on the papers.
Renting the XC90 in Norway
Can the Volvo XC90 be delivered to Gardermoen or Bergen?
Yes. We meet you in arrivals at Oslo Gardermoen or Bergen Flesland with the car ready, rather than at an off-terminal car park. Send your flight number and we track the actual landing time, so a delay moves the handover at no cost.
How are AutoPASS tolls handled?
Every car carries a working AutoPASS tag. Charges are reconciled to your booking and shown as one line afterwards — nothing to register, top up or dispute at a barrier.
Can I return the XC90 in a different Norwegian city?
Yes. Oslo to Bergen, Bergen to Stavanger, or back to Gardermoen from a cabin — there is no depot the XC90 must return to, and the repositioning is shown on the quote.
Does the Volvo XC90 seat seven?
Yes. The third row suits children and shorter adult journeys; for seven adults over a long distance the GLS or Escalade is the better call.
Are child seats provided?
Free of charge and fitted before delivery. The outer middle-row seats also have integrated booster cushions, which is often enough for older children.
