Mercedes-Benz G-Class
For the road that stops being a road.
Three locking differentials and low-range gearing mean the G-Class keeps going on difficult winter roads long after a normal four-wheel drive has stopped. For a lodge at the end of a gravel track in February, it is the strongest car we deliver in Norway.

Why it is the Norwegian winter default
Three locking differentials and low-range gearing are not marketing on this car — they are the mechanism by which it climbs an unploughed access road that has defeated everything ahead of it. Norway is the market where that matters most, because a great many of the best places to stay are at the end of exactly that kind of road.
Standard winter tyres are fitted from October to April. Studded tyres on request, where conditions and local rules make them the right choice.
Square outside, finished like a saloon inside
The upright glass and flat sides give visibility that modern SUVs have largely given up on — useful on a narrow mountain road with a drop on one side, and equally useful parking on a tight Oslo street. Inside it is trimmed to the same standard as an S-Class.
Five seats, and a boot that is a tall square box rather than a shallow slope, so it takes ski bags and hard cases without negotiation.
Getting a G-Class to the end of the road
Ski resorts, forest tracks and cabins well off the main routes are normal delivery points for this car — Trysil, Geilo, Hemsedal, and private addresses other rental companies will not quote at all. Delivery distance appears as its own line on the quote so you can see what the run costs before agreeing to it.
Every car carries an AutoPASS tag, cross-border into Sweden and Finland is permitted, and if the weather or the plan changes mid-stay we will swap the vehicle rather than let you discover the problem on the road.
Renting the G-Class in Norway
Is the G-Class suitable for unploughed Norwegian roads?
It is the most capable car in our fleet for demanding winter access. Actual road conditions and any local access restrictions always govern, and we will tell you honestly if a route is not passable.
Can I get studded tyres fitted in Norway?
Yes, on request where legally permitted and suitable. Standard winter tyres are fitted automatically from October to April at no cost.
Can the G-Class be delivered to a cabin off the main road?
Often yes, and it is one of the main reasons this car is in the Norwegian fleet. Give us the location and we will quote the delivery distance and confirm access.
How many people and how much luggage?
Five, with a tall square boot that takes three hard cases or ski bags.
Can I swap to a different car mid-rental?
Ask us. Subject to availability we can arrange a vehicle change if the weather or your plans change.
