Mercedes-Benz G-Class
Unploughed access, north of the treeline.
Most of Sweden never needs a G-Class. The far north does. For a fjäll cabin above Åre, a lodge beyond Kiruna or a forest track in Jämtland in February, three locking differentials and low-range gearing are the difference between arriving and phoning for help.

Square outside, finished like a saloon inside
The G-Class keeps its upright glass and flat sides, which means visibility that modern SUVs have largely given up on — useful on a narrow mountain road with a drop on one side. Inside it is trimmed to the same standard as an S-Class.
For the far north the tall, square boot is the practical argument: ski bags and hard cases stand upright, and the upright glass gives the visibility you want on a narrow fjäll road above Åre with snow banked on both sides.
When the track to the fjäll cabin has not been ploughed
Swedish mountain cabins are often reached by private tracks that are cleared when someone gets round to it. In Jämtland and Lapland that can mean a metre of fresh snow between the road and the door, and the G-Class is the car in the Swedish fleet that deals with it: low range, three locking differentials, and studded tyres on request.
In Stockholm it is simply a very comfortable, very square luxury car. We would not recommend it for a week in Gamla stan, and we will say so, but for the drive north it is the one to take.
The G-Class in Stockholm and beyond
We deliver the G-Class to Stockholm and Arlanda, and to Åre and the northern resorts with racks fitted and studded tyres on request. Cabins off the main road are quoted with the distance shown as its own line — and confirmed for access before you book.
The Stockholm and Gothenburg congestion tax is reconciled to your booking and shown as a single line afterwards. Winter tyres are fitted from October to April at no cost, and cross-border travel into Norway, Denmark and Finland is permitted and noted on the papers.
Renting the G-Class in Sweden
Can the Mercedes-Benz G-Class be delivered to Arlanda?
Yes. We meet you in arrivals at Arlanda with the car ready rather than sending you to a remote car park, and Bromma, Landvetter and Skavsta are available on request. Send your flight number and a delay moves the handover at no cost.
Is the Stockholm congestion tax included?
Charges are reconciled to your booking and shown as one line afterwards. There is nothing to register or pay at a barrier.
Can the G-Class go to Åre?
Yes, and above Åre is where it earns its place in the Swedish fleet. Racks are fitted before delivery, studded tyres are available on request, and we collect from the resort or from Arlanda.
How many people does the G-Class seat?
Five, with a tall square boot that takes three hard cases or a set of ski bags without folding seats down.
Can I swap to a different car mid-rental?
Yes. If the weather changes or plans do, a swap is part of the concierge service rather than a new booking, subject to availability.
